I fought TOOTH & NAIL to get, because they kept telling me my area was not "provisioned to have such speeds". Log story short, after a couple of painful years & many, many issues with routers, speeds, billing, credits, tech call outs, etc. i finally received the 500/500 plan. The customer reviews even before they bought FIOS, were frightful to say the least. I dreaded reading this, as well as the day it would come to fruition. ( Wireless is far more lucrative than home internet on many, many levels) They decided to SELL their FIOS to Frontier. Verizon decided they wanted to focus more on their wireless infrastructure, & get out of 65%(+) of their home networking side of things. Again, upgraded at no charge! ->Īfter some time, many a year later. As time went on, there basic plan was 50/50. A few years later, as FIOS became more popular, they upgraded us to 35/35 for free! No fuss, no muss. After a bit, they upgraded their plans to symmetric. For example, when i signed up with FIOS ( Verizon) i had the 25/5 package. See, back in the day, when FIOS was owned by Verizon, the used to do periodic FREE speed upgrades for their customers. When compared separately, Frontier’s fiber customer’s were much more satisfied with their service, giving an overall satisfaction score of 3.8, while DSL customers rated their overall service 3.3. Frontier’s ratings combine both fiber and DSL customers. What’s startling here is that Spectrum increases its prices after 12 months whereas Frontier does not, yet Frontier has a slightly lower pricing score than Spectrum. It ranks in the bottom half across the board, with its strongest point being price satisfaction. Still, Spectrum has some of the cheapest post-promo prices you’ll find for cable internet service.įrontier returns to our survey after missing out last year. Its weakest link is price satisfaction, which is understandable given prices go up around $25 after a year. Spectrum ranks second in speed satisfaction, with a score above the national average when it comes to meeting the advertised speeds. Spectrum takes the third spot for overall satisfaction out of 13 national internet providers in our latest customer satisfaction survey.
